SiOO:X Surface Protector (Part 2)

SiOO:X Surface Protection creates an invisible, breathable barrier against moisture, dirt and algae, giving your deck or cladding lasting elegance. It's the second and final step in the SiOO:X system, applied after SiOO:X Wood Protection (Part 1) to lock in the treatment's protective and aesthetic benefits.

SiOO:X is a patented silicon technology applied in two parts — SiOO:X Wood Protection (Part 1) and SiOO:X Surface Protection (Part 2). In addition to its protective benefits, SiOO:X develops a beautiful silver-grey colour as it cures, similar to a natural weathered look, over several months.

Please note: Two coats of Wood Protection (Part 1) and one coat of Surface Protection (Part 2) must be applied as per the application instructions.

SiOO:X is suitable for many common species including Larch, Cedar, various hardwoods, and certain modified woods, e.g. thermally modified pine. Please contact our sales team for further information on species suitability.

For use in external, above-ground conditions; timber cladding or decking should be selected for its natural durability with a minimum durability Class 3 (according to BS EN 350-2). SiOO:X is not recommended for application on windows or doors.

How a façade weathers depends on location, design and timber species. Unevenly weathered facades — for example, boards sheltered by eaves retaining their natural colour while exposed boards grey down — can look inconsistent. SiOO:X solves this: in the months following application, all boards settle to the same uniform silver-grey tone, regardless of prior colour or exposure.
